Fresh Cranberry Chutney is a sweet and savory side dish with juicy plump Cranberries, tart Apples, sweet Purple Onions, and delicious Raisins. This simplistic and fresh dish is easy to create, and filled with fresh, fall flavors.
What are the origins of Cranberry Sauce?
Cranberry sauce is a traditional American sauce that was first recorded in the 1796 edition of The Art of Cookery by Amelia Simmons. Today, there are many variations of this holiday-favorite. In the United States, cranberry sauce is served for Thanksgiving, and for Christmas in Canada and the United Kingdom.
We love to prepare our Fresh Cranberry Chutney to pair with our Thanksgiving dinner. This healthier alternative to jellied cranberry sauce allows the cranberries to be the star of the show. It is the perfect accompaniment to your Herb Roasted Turkey Breast, or any dish that needs a sweet and savory addition. This dish is also perfect on your favorite turkey sandwiches.
