Selecting the Right Bread for You
We love to use Sourdough bread in our Avocado toast, because of the rich flavor it brings with the perfect amount of tanginess. In addition, Sourdough bread is great because of its lower phytate levels, making it easier to digest than traditional bread.
Our personal favorite Sourdough is the Whole Foods Sourdough bread from the bakery section. It is typically found in the case, and they will slice it fresh for you in the store. If you don’t have Sourdough bread on hand or have a different type of bread you prefer, feel free to substitute with your favorite!
Picking the Best Avocados
When selecting the right Avocado, we prefer to use a nice ripe Avocado, as it is easier to spread, but any Avocado you have on hand will work for this toast.
If you have 5 extra minutes in the morning, this breakfast toasts pair great with fresh scrambled eggs.
Topping Off Your Avocado Toast
Let’s whip up this quick and simple breakfast. If you’re feeling adventurous, sprinkle Red Pepper Flakes on top for the perfect finishing touch! It adds just enough spice that you may desire to kick off your morning.

Description
- Toast the bread (for the crispy bread lovers, make sure you toast to a light coffee color).
- While the bread is toasting, cut the avocado in half, remove the skin and the seed.
- Put the avocado in a bow. Use the back of the fork to smash the avocado until it is creamy.
- Once the avocado is creamy, add the lemon juice, stir well.
- Taking one tablespoon out at a time, spread the Avocado spread on top of your toast.
- Sprinkle the Everything But the Bagel Seasoning over your Avocado spread, add the optional red pepper flakes to taste.
