Description

Louisiana Shrimp Scampi is made with simple and flavorful ingredients – green onions, butter, garlic, white wine, Worcestershire, and lemon juice.


Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 bunch of green onions, thinly chopped
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 4-5 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 1 lb of fresh or frozen shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup of white wine
  • 2-4 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 2-4 tablespoons of Worcestershire
  • 1/2 lb. of Vermicelli pasta
  • 1 - 2 tablespoons of Olive Oil
  • Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning or Healthy Cajun Seasoning for taste

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of water to boil and cook Vermicelli according to package directions, drain and set aside.
  2. Sauté the garlic in the olive oil until fragrant.
  3. Add the stick of butter, melt, add the shrimp and cook until pink.
  4. Add the cooked Vermicelli pasta, stir well.
  5. Mix in the lemon juice, wine, and Worcestershire, combine well.
  6. Finally add the green onions and heat through.
  7. Make sure all ingredients are combined well and serve hot.

Notes

If you are purchasing your shrimp from the frozen section of your local grocery store, make sure your gulf shrimp are NOT pre-peeled. The shell of the shrimp protects it from freezer burn.
