Units
Scale
- 1.5 lbs (680g) of ground turkey
- 1/3 cup (40g) of breadcrumbs
- 1 egg (50g), beaten
- 2 Tablespoons (30ml) of avocado oil
- 1 Tablespoon (18g) of seasoned sea salt (We use Herbed Sea Salt)
- 1 Tablespoon (15ml) of Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon (3g) of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon (3g) of garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon (2g) of black pepper
Instructions
- Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, gently mix the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, seasoned salt, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper.
Tip: Use your hands for mixing but don’t compress the meat too much - Form the Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and form into patties about 3/4-inch thick. Make a slight thumbprint indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.
Tip: If the mixture is too sticky, wet your hands with cold water before forming patties. - Prepare for Cooking: If grilling, preheat the grill to medium-high heat. If cooking on the stove, heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the patties:
- For grilling: Cook for 5-6 minutes on each side
- For stovetop: Cook for 5-6 minutes on each side in the skillet
- For oven baking: Preheat to 375°F and bake for 15-18 minutes, flipping halfway
- Use a meat thermometer to verify the internal temperature has reached 165°F, which is the safe temperature for poultry.
Tip: Avoid pressing down on the burgers while cooking as this releases the juices.
